U.S. supports dialogue, obstruction not helpful

The United States supports the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, which is conducted under the auspices of the EU, and believes that everything that obstructs the dialogue is not helpful, a high official of the U.S. Department of State told the press commenting the platform on Kosovo.

He told Tanjug's correspondent in Washington that the U.S. welcomes the progress reached in the dialogue, adding that Serbia and Kosovo have pledged to engage in the talks constructively.

Everything that undermines and obstructs the dialogue is not helpful, the U.S. official added.

The platform, which Tanjug has seen and whose authenticity has been confirmed, envisages a high level of territorial and political autonomy for Serb municipalities on the model of Catalonia, while the autonomy would be guaranteed by highest legislative acts of the province that would be backed by officials of the international community who partake in the talks.
