Between the 24th of March and the 12th of June 1999 Serbia was attacked by NATO.
For 78 days, bridges, roads, schools and factories were destroyed by an overwhelmingly powerful enemy. With its 800:1 ratio of force, the NATO attack (codename "Allied Force") was more like a natural disaster than a war.
Serbs reacted with an astonishing sense of humor and sang-froid. Photos, graffiti, caricatures, jokes, and cartoons captured, with a minimum of words, the essence of this absurd war.
Bombardan.com has published a series of post/war cards in recognition of the talent of those who rejected fear in favor of humor.
