Where would a unilateral recognition of Kosovo's independence by the USA bring us in a few years time? - A Short political fiction scenario

C21NA/ New United Nations Security Council / Geneva / December 12th,
2022 - China 21st News Agency reports: Today at the New United Nations
Security Council (NUNSC) in Geneva (Switzerland) , a major crisis will
probably erupt between the USA and Russia on one side, and the European
Union, China and Brazil, backed by countries of the Latin American block on
the other side.
It will be the culminating point of a crisis which loomed
for almost 8 years, following the first declaration, on July 3rd 2014, of
the 'Chicanos Independence League' (CIL) calling for a renegotiation of the
constitutional links between Spanish speaking southern US states (ranging
from Southern California to Florida, including namely New Mexico, Arizona,
Texas) and Washington DC.
After years of growing unrest in the Southern part of the
US, due to violent separatist movements backed by some Latin American
countries such as Venezuela, Mexico and Cuba, equally enjoying financial
support of Central American drug-lords, the situation whirled out of control
three years ago when the US National Guard was defeated in a direct
confrontation with 5,000 CIL fighters in Albuquerque (New Mexico). In the
following days, the US Air Force launched series of bombing raids in the
region which caused the death of more than 4,000 civilians and CIL fighters.
Latin American countries, led by their two permanent NUNSC
members (Brazil an Argentina), managed to have the topic raised at the
NUNSC, in order to call for a cease-fire and the rapid deployment of NUN
'blue helmets' on the ground. The USA, back by Russia (a country facing
similar independence trends in several parts of its territories, blocked the
proposed resolution, which nevertheless received a surprisingly strong
backing by China and the European Union.
Ever growing ties between China and Latin American countries
explain the Chinese position. When the EU ambassador to the NUNSC made clear
that the EU will support the Latin American proposal because of a clear case
of required 'ingérence humanitaire' .
Since then, the US government has been unable to bring back
any significant stability in its Southern states, where death squads,
military commandos, CIL fighters and drug trafficking gangs have created a
'war zone'-like situation with civilians killed every day.
Yesterday's collapse of the talks between the different
parties concerned paves the way for a new resolution proposal backed this
time by the entire NUNSC but USA and Russia, though Russian opposition may
be fading away due to strong pressures from both China and the EU.
In a stark comment, the EU Ambassador to the NUN, reminded
his US counterpart that the USA had followed exactly the same policy in
Europe, during the collapse of the Soviet empire soon followed by the
disintegration of Yugoslavia. And that therefore the European Union
leadership, strongly backed by its public opinion, could not see any reason
to apply different standards there. All the more since, contrary for
instance to the Kosovo case in December 2007, the EU was not acting in a
unilateral way by recognising the independence of the so-called 'Southern
United States of America' currently being shaped up by the CIL.
