Southern Kyrgyzstan another Kosovo?
Kyrgyz President Roza Otunbayeva has said she may call off scheduled elections and declare a state of emergency in the face of hostile attempts to make southern Kyrgyzstan another Kosovo and break it apart.

This follows a report to the UN and Europe's OSCE security body, in which analysts of the International Crisis Group predict another wave of ethnic violence in Kyrgyzstan and subsequent disintegration. They also name the former Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari as the best possible mediator in the Kyrgyzstan conflict.
Similarly to how he separated Kosovo, Mr Ahtisaari would set about separating predominantly Uzbek-populated areas in southern Kyrgyzstan. Similarly to Kosovo, these areas would then become major stages and distribution hubs for drugs. And not unlike in Kosovo, secessionist authorities there would be dancing to the tune of the United States, which already operates a military base in Kyrgyzstan.
American jets would be handy vehicles to airlift Afghan-grown drugs to Europe.
Latest reports from southern Kyrgyzstan speak about separatist designs to stage mass rioting at the end of the holy Moslem month of Ramadan. Kyrgyz special services have also disclosed intelligence about an invasion force of 150 gunmen massed in Afghanistan and Tajikistan. These gents are reportedly going to break in for facilitating the transit of three tons of heroin across Kyrgyz territory.
Many of Kyrgyzstan's ethnic Uzbeks have already deemed it wise to pack up and flee.
