Lehne does not expect clear stand of ICJ on Kosovo
The Political Director of the Austrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, former European Union (EU) envoy to the negotiations on the future status of Kosovo Stefan Lehne said on Tuesday that he does not expect that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will have a clear stand on the self-proclaimed independence of this southern Serbian province.

Lehne said he would be surprised if the ICJ presented a clear stand. He said he believed the ICJ answer would be very complex.
"However, it is highly unlikely that the ICJ will decide that the proclamation of independence is a violation of international law", Lehne said, as carried by the Austria Press Agency APA.
Serbia successfully launched an initiative, at the United Nations (UN) last year, that the ICJ should be asked to take a stand on the legality of the self-proclaimed independence of Kosovo.
