Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has announced that the Council for National Security will hold a meeting in President Tomislav Nikolic's cabinet today and that the platform for Kosovo will be discussed.

He added that the platform could be expected "in the next several days and weeks".

Vucic said that everybody who took part in the drafting of the platform should today present their objections and proposals.

According to him, the document will be adopted soon and it will be presented to opposition parties first in order to reach the widest possible consensus.

"We will present our objections and certain views and I expect to quickly reach an agreement and present it to the opposition parties and reach the widest possible consensus and present it to the public," the deputy PM told Radio Television of Serbia.

Serbian parliament speaker Nebojša Stefanovic says he expects the competent state bodies to submit the platform to parliament in the next few weeks.

"I expect that a serious consensus on the most important issues will first be reached and I expect the platform to be in parliament in the next several weeks," he stressed.

The Serbian officials last conferred on the platform for Kosovo last Wednesday. Nikolić, Vucic, Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, Deputy PM for European Integration Suzana Grubjesic and Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkić took part in the meeting.
