Ruzic: Agreement in line with status neutrality

The content of the agreements reached in the meetings of Serbia's and Kosovo's prime ministers, Ivica Dacic and Hasim Taci, is in line with the status neutrality of the talks, Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) whip in the Serbian parliament Branko Ruzic said Wednesday.

"I think it is very important to begin the realization of the things that were agreed in the previous period. The content of the agreements corresponds to the status neutrality of the talks between Dacic and Taci," Ruzic told reporters at the parliament.

He said two administrative crossings would open by December 10 and another two by the end of the year, adding the new arrangement would enable transparent flow of money for the Serb community in the north, while EU mediation would result in the establishment of liaison officers who would monitor the implementation of the agreements.

Ruzic said they were not ambassadors, noting that ambassadors were representatives in diplomatic and consular offices in countries which are internationally recognized legal entities and UN members, which was not the case here.

"All those speculating do not know the first thing about the history of international relations and diplomacy," said Ruzic.

Asked whether liaison officers were agreed on earlier or Tuesday night, Ruzic said the framework and the content of the earlier agreements corresponded with the content of the high-level talks between Dacic and Taci, noting there would be innovations in the implementation of the agreements, because everyone needed to move forward and turn to the future rather than back to the past.
