Construction works at this crossing were finished two days ago, and the area was widened so that containers of Serb and Kosovo officers could be brought closer.
Aside approaching containers, the control regime has not been changed - there are still two separate controls, but now at one location.
There are no state symbols at the Merdare crossing, and Serb and Kosovo policemen and customs officers and EULEX members are deployed at the location.
With the check of a passenger vehicle with the Kosovska Mitrovica license plates that came from the direction of Raska around 9:00 CET Monday, the crossing near Jarinje between northern Kosovo and central Serbia opened, marking the start of the agreement's implementation.
Although works on the integrated crossing at Jarinje have not been completed yet, the crossing opened, there are no state symbols at it, and the realization of the agreement began, Tanjug's on-site crew reported.
Since this morning, members of EULEX and the Ministry of the Interior (MUP) have been at one location, the distance between them being around 10 meters.
There are a total of 6 containers at the Jarinje integrated crossing, in which there are members of the Serbian MUP and EULEX.
A 'stop' sign has been put up on the Raska-Leposavic main road at Jarinje, where this integrated crossing is located.
Dejan Pavicevic, head of Belgrade's team in the technical dialogue with Pristina, is on the ground.
Members of the Serbian MUP were the first to enter the containers, and shortly after EULEX officials and members of the Kosovo police came from the direction of the Jarinje administrative crossing on the Kosovo side.
Works on the construction of road infrastructure on the Jarinje integrated crossing continued early on Monday, and as announced previously, they are expected to be completed in the next five days.
There are no congestions or major delays at the crossings.
