The blast ripped through the bank's offices in town of Dragas in southern Kosovo, shattering windows and causing considerable damage to the building's structure, Kosovo police spokesman Veton Elshani said.

"Komercijalna" bank is the only Serbian-based bank allowed to operate in Kosovo.

The Dragas region is inhabited by the Gorani ethnic group, who kept close relations with Serbs despite rather harsh and intensive pressure of Kosovo Albanians and repeated attacks launched by local extremists.

Gorani are a south Slavic Muslim ethnic group, living in the mountainous Gora region in southwestern Kosovo, northwestern Macedonia and northeastern Albania.
