Nikolic: Resolution rests on firm platform
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has said that he is satisfied to see the opposition and government finding a common ground on Kosovo in the parliament, and to know that the adopted resolution has a serious platform as its foundation.

He said he was pleased with the fact that the government and the opposition had finally got together, which filled him with a lot more optimism ahead of the new round of talks in Brussels.
All those who will have negotiated on behalf of the Republic of Serbia will have the resolution in their hands and will be aware that they have to submit reports on their talks to the parliament, Nikolic said. He added that nobody would have to say they had done something ad hoc any more, as the national parliament document was now there providing a consistent policy to pursue.
By backing the resolution, the opposition realized that it got the opportunity to control the ruling power, he added.
The public has become familiar with the platform, but also those on the other side of the negotiating table, which perhaps is not too good a thing, but in the end nothing is lost, the Serbian president said.
"It is good that Serbia knows that the resolution rests on a serious platform, which in fact restricts the resolution," the Serbia president concluded.
