Asked whether she would take the position again to indict KLA senior officials, Del Ponte replied affirmatively in a statement to Belgrade-based daily Vecernje Novosti.Especially now when I am a member of the UN commission on Syria. I have always thought that victims need justice, Del Ponte said.Speaking about the results yielded by Lead Prosecutor John Clint Williamson's investigation into the human organ trafficking, Del Ponte notes that the prosecutor will have a tough task to prove that the organs were forcibly harvested from the abducted Serbs, Roma and disloyal Albanians in Kosovo, the main obstacle being that the bodies have not been found yet.Williamson said in Brussels on Tuesday that no sufficient evidence has been found that organs were forcibly harvested from the people abducted in Kosovo in 1999, but that there is evidence of involvement of senior KLA officials in ethnic cleansing and war crimes in Kosovo.Commenting on the speculations that Hasim Taci will be among the names to appear on the indictment, she says she does not know whether the investigation ascertained who is responsible, but I think that the investigators identified the suspects. If the evidence has been collected, these will be crimes against humanity, Del Ponte said.
She voiced the hope that a specialist court for Kosovo will be set up next year, and noted that this will depend on the political will in Kosovo.Del Ponte first made claims about Kosovo Albanians smuggling human organs of kidnapped Serbs in a book of hers, titled "The Hunt: Me and the War Criminals", published in April 2008, after she resigned as ICTY chief prosecutor.
