Kosovo's president Fatmir Sejdiu urged the UN mission in Kosovo to leave its territory by early autumn.
Unmik has been running the interim administration in Kosovo since the end of the 1999-99 conflict.
«The United Nations will not and should not stay in the role it currently has,» Sejdiu said in an interview.
Sejdiu said any U.N. presence should be time-limited and leave «by early autumn» of this year.
The Kosovo constitution, adopted after Pristina proclaimed a unilateral secession from Serbia, will take into effect on June 15.
