The decision was taken by the Kosovo Serb parliamentary majority and it will include the Gorani community, which lives in southwestern Kosovo, near the border with Macedonia and Albania.
"The Assembly will have a coordinating character and it will represent all citizens of the Republic of Serbia living in Kosovo and who are respecting the laws of the Serbian state. Since 1999, there has been a parallelism of authority, and it continues today", Serbian Minister for Kosovo Slobodan Samardzic said.
He said the formation of the Assembly will contribute to reducing tension in Kosovo.
