Serbia addresses protest notes to Liberia, Sierra Leone
The Serbian Foreign Ministry addressed Tuesday protest notes to the governments of Liberia and Sierra Leone on their recognition of the unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo.
The notes express the stand of the Serbian government rejecting the illegal unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo and point to possible consequences this illegal act can have on security, the ministry said.
The unilateral declaration of independence of Kosovo constitutes a serious violation of international law, and Serbia asks the countries which recognized it to reconsider their decisions, the release says.
Liberia recognized Kosovo on May 30 and Sierra Leone on June 13.
