Moscow is ready to support any outcome which would be acceptable to Serbia and its proposal for the resumption of direct talks between Pristina and Belgrade is still on the table.
"We are convinced that the solution can be found only on the basis of agreement of the sides", Lavrov said, and added that the "unilateral declaration of independence is only provokng new problems".
Lavrov and Jeremic said that the changing of the format of the international mission in Kosovo cannot be executed unilaterally since it means the implementation of the Martti Ahtisaari plan.
Instead, they said it must be approved by the UN Security Council and given a consent by Serbia.
Jeremic reiterated that there can be "no solution without a Kosovo compromise".
