Former court employees of Serb nationality and UNMIK Judicial Development Department representatives discussed the functioning of the judiciary in northern Kosovo and the opening of the District and Municipal Court in Kosovska Mitrovica.

The meeting agenda covered the principles for the re-opening of the Court in northern Kosovo.

UNMIK Head of Judicial Development Department Elizabeth Rolando said that the meeting with the Serbian judicial workers was dedicated to technical issues in order to enable the re-opening of the Kosovska Mitrovica Court.

Attempts were made to find a practical way and solution for the opening of the Court in Kosovska Mitrovica, she said.

"Hopefully, an adequate solution will be found, one that will be acceptable for all communities and with which both sides will be in agreement", Rolando said.
