"The agreement has no political significance but only technical", he said, adding it would be signed in Pristina in a few days.

The agreement envisages, for instance, the sale of UNMIK's vehicles to the EU mission, he said.

According to earlier announcements, the reconfiguration of UNMIK, approved by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon albeit without a necessary UN Security Council resolution and despite opposition by Serbia and Russia, should be completed by the end of this year.

UNMIK has started reducing its personnel as part of reconfiguation, while the personnel of the EU mission EULEX, planned to act under UN umbrella,  will be increased, Ivanko said.
