UNMIK and EULEX sign technical agreement
UNMIK chief Lamberto Zannier signed on Monday in Pristina with EULEX officials a technical agreement on the transfer or sale of UNMIK's technical equipment, office space, vehicles and some facilities it has built in Kosovo since its arrival in 1999, UNMIK spokesman Alexander Ivanko said.

Unlike last week's announcement by UNMIK that a memorandum of understanding would be signed with EULEX, Ivanko said that the agreement is a technical, not a political document.
It is not a memorandum of understanding but a technical arrangement on transfer of property, he said.
UNMIK will withdraw gradually transfering some powers to EULEX over several months, he said.
According to a decision of UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, UNMIK will reduce its personnel by 70 percent.
The process of reducing the number of UNMIK staff has begun with the closing of the Administrative Department of Local Administration and the Office of Return and Communities (ORC).
