Italy and Hungary warned against unilateral moves if no agreement is reached on the status of Kosovo on December 10.

Defence ministers Imre Szekeres and Luigi Parisi said in Rome on Thursday that it would be "good and desirable" if the U.N. Security Council issued a position on the status of Kosovo and promoted an agreement before December 10.
"All efforts should target an agreement, but we need to be prepared if one is not reached," Szekeres said.
Several European countries have made it clear they oppose any kind of solution for Kosovo made outside of the U.N. Security Council. Among them are "traditional" opponents to the independence of Kosovo -- such as Spain, Slovakia, Romania, Greece, and Cyprus -- as well as the members that were initially not against Martti Ahtisaari's plan. The latter group, headed by Germany, includes among others, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary, Malta, and Sweden.
No EU member has so far publicly indicated it would recognize a potential unilateral declaration of Kosovo's independence.
