Russia: We will not allow the Medvedev-Sarkozy agreement to be “creatively interpreted” like UN SC Resolution 1244

"We will not allow ‘creative interpretations' of this important document to be used like they were used for Resolution 1244" on Kosovo, Medvedev said.

"Some in the West have interpreted resolution 1244 as giving way for the recognition of Kosovo's independence ... this is the consequence of the UN Security Council resolution being neglected and ignored, " Rogozin said, arguing that Moscow had learned the lesson from the Kosovo case and will not allow its repeat.
