Belgrade-Unmik to discuss electricity issues

Serbian Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic has said that talks will soon be held with UNMIK about the improvement of electricity supply in the province

He said that with the coming winter there was a "great danger that Serb communities might be left without electricity up to 18 hours a day, like before".

"We will get in touch with UNMIK representatives and try to find a mutually acceptable solution and improve the electricity supply, not just of Serb communities, but also of all of Kosovo," Bogdanovic said.

He said that Serbia had offered to UNMIK a contract on assistance in the electricity supply of Kosovo two years ago, but that it had not been accepted because of the opposition in the Kosovo Albanian institutions.
