Finland completely supports the ICJ, which means that Finland will not vote against Serbia 's motion that the ICJ state its opinion about the legality of Pristina's unilateral move, Halonen said.

"Even if Kosovo was not the perfect case, the situation in Georgia , with South Ossetia and Abkhasia is even less perfect", Halonen said.

Finland will not vote against in any case, said Finnish Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb, explaining that talks on the joint EU stand on the occasion of the UN General Assembly vote were underway.

"If the EU takes a joint stand, this stand can only be to abstain", he said.
