US ambassador: We encourage all countries to recognize Kosovo
U.S. Ambassador to Serbia Cameron Munter stated in Belgrade on Thursday that his country encourages the countries of the world to recognize the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo, but that it does not force anyone to do it.

"We believe that recognition of Kosovo's independence is in everyone's interest", Munter told a news conference, rejecting the allegations that Washington is imposing pressure on the region countries, including Montenegro, to recognize Kosovo.
Munter said that the US disagrees with the Serbian government's initiative before the UN General Assembly to ask an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice on the legality of the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.
