"This means that, practically, the NATO Parliamentary Assembly accepts that the only legal solution is the one that must pass through the UN Security Council", Dragan Sormaz, a member of the Serbian delegation at the assembly, said.
Sormaz said that US deputies also voted for the resolution, which means that "any story about a unilateral recognition of Kosovo should be out of the agenda".
"I do not see why the US State Department would act differently from their own senators and congressmen here in Reykjavik", he added.
The Serbian deputy expressed his satisfaction with the resolution, calling it "very positive for Serbia" and a "basis for an argument why Kosovo should remain part of Serbia".
