EU approves US participation in Eulex
The European Union Council of Ministers has approved United States participation in the Eulex mission in Kosovo

The Council adopted a document on the US participation, stating that Washington will secure that its officials carry out the mission in keeping with the joint action and the operative plan of Eulex.
As agreed, Eulex Head Yves de Kermabon will command and control staff, teams and units.
The US has asked for two exceptions: "any disciplinary measure remains the responsibility of the United States" and the statute of posted staff remains the "exclusive judicial competence" of the United States.
