UAE recognizes Kosovo independence

The United Arab Emirates has become the first Arab nation to recognize Kosovo as an independent state

The Emirates said they recognized Kosovo's independence in line with its "firm support" for nations exercising legitimate right to self determination.

An overwhelming majority of Arab states is firmly opposed to Kosovo's secession, which they view as a project masterminded by Washington.
