Russian patriarch: Ahtisaari’s Nobel Peace Prize is unjust

Patriarch Alexy II, head of the Russian Orthodox Church, said on Wednesday that the opposition of Russia and of the Russian Orthodox Church to the violent seizure of Kosovo from Serbia was always clear and explicit

"We see this as unjust, same as we see as unjust the decision to award the International Nobel Peace Prize to Martti Ahtisaari, whose plan helped the seizure of Kosovo from Serbia", the Russian patriarch said.

He said that it should be kept in mind that  the region is Holy land for the Serbian people, among other things, because of the quantity of churches and monasteries.
