Hofbauer's "Experiment Kosovo" at Frankfurt Book Fair
The new book by renowned Austrian reporter and publicist Hannes Hofbauer entitled "Experiment Kosovo" was presented at the Frankfurt Book Fair on Wednesday

Hofbauer argues that the proclamation of the independence of Kosovo is a very dangerous event for the future developments in Europe.
"That is a precedent of a unilateral shifting of borders which deals a fatal blow to the post-war order of Europe", Hofbauer said.
"At its very onset Kosovo appears as a failed state, and as such enters into a new epoch ... fundamental sectors of Kosovo's economy are not functioning and advancement in Kosovo society is achieved only through success on the black market or through mass emigration", he said.
What Hofbauer finds particularly disturbing is the fact that a specific neocolonial experiment is in effect in Kosovo, which he said could set a dangerous precedent for the future of Europe.
Kosovo is imperceptibly being transformed from a UN protectorate into a colony of the European Union, Hofbauer said. Prospects are being opened in Kosovo for experiments in the areas of the political, legal, and even the police and military authorities, he said.
"The creating of a society in which there is no civilian distribution of authority and in which there is no democratic decision-making - following a successful test in Kosovo -- that can be applied later elsewhere, even in the very heart of Europe", Hofbauer said.
