Solana hopes for an agreement on Eulex by the end of the week
European Union High Representative for foreign policy and security Javier Solana told the press Monday in Brussels after the EU Council of Ministers meeting that he hopes for an agreement on Eulex by the end of this week.

Sources in his cabinet said Solana is in contact with both Belgrade and Pristina and that he conferred with Serbian President Boris Tadic on Friday and with leading officials of Kosovo institutions on Monday.
"We are cautious, but hoping for an agreement in the next several days", these sources said.
The EU Council of Ministers previously welcomed the prepartions of the Eulex mission, including the current deployment, in order to enable the mission to start fulfilling its mandate in early December.
