Albanians blame the UN plan on Russia, Serb « Chetniks »

Kosovo Albanian movements and non-governmental organizations are staging protests on Wednesday against the UN plan on the reconfiguration of Unmik, while political figures have slammed the plan as being a « Serb-Russian production » and even a « Chetnik » conspiracy, a reference to the World War II Serb resistance movement against the Nazi-backed Albanian troops

The protest dubbed "All against the Ban Ki-Moon six-point plan" is staged by 15 movements in support of Pristina's rejection of the UN proposal.

"Belgrade is the problem, because it definitely needs to realize that Kosovo is an independent and democratic country," Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci said.

Kosovo's Parliamentary Speaker Jakup Krasnici said that the plan is a "joint Serbian-Russian project", arguing that "elements of the plan are non-democratic and come from non-democratic countries".

According to Adem Demaci, a prominent Kosovo Albanian leader, it is the "Chetniks" who are to blame for Ban Ki-Moon's plans.
