In his report, General-Secretary Ban welcomed the agreement of the Belgrade authorities with the six-point plan, while the four points proposed by the Pristina institutions have been noted and are presented in Annex 1 of the report.
Ban concluded that the Pristina authorities have rejected the six-point plan on the reconfiguration of UNMIK, but pointed out that it is good the interim institutions are willing to cooperate with the Eulex mission.
The report also said that EULEX will act in a neutral framework regarding the UN, and that it will regularly submit reports to that world organization.
Eulex will be deployed in the entire territory of Kosovo in coordination with UNMIK, the general-secretary said in his report.
The reconfiguration of UNMIK has been stepped up at this time because of the situation in the field, Ban said.
Among other things, the plan allows for the opening of 10 new police stations in Serb areas, as well as for the tax collection funds to be used for the development of local Serb areas.
