A declaration from the two-day NATO meeting stated that the "robust KFOR presence will remain in Kosovo on the basis of UN Security Council Resolution 1244, and will cooperate throughout Kosovo with the UN, EU and all other international actors on developing a stable, democratic, multi-ethnic and peaceful Kosovo."
"Prompt deployment of EULEX through Kosovo is an urgent priority and, in this context, we note the adoption of the presidential statement of the UN Security Council in regards to the support for the reconfiguration of UNMIK," the declaration read.
The ministers added that they "strongly encourage the Kosovo authorities and Serbia to cooperate" in avoiding and preventing violence.
NATO stated that it remains ready to play its role in implementing future security arrangements and to continue to work on disbanding the Kosovo Protection Corps and creating the Kosovo Security Forces.
