Solana: Too early to launch debate on Kosovo’s European integration
The EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana said on Tuesday that “in due course”, there would be return to the Kosovo issue regarding its European integration, but that it was “too early to launch this debate”

Asked by the Tanjug news agency on whether he believed that Serbia would conditioned by its recognition of Kosovo's independence in order to join the EU and if not, how Kosovo would join the EU, Solana said that "all countries of the Western Balkans have a clear EU integration perspective".
"The conditions are known to all, as is the work required to fulfil them. I have no doubt the Serbian government will do what it can to make rapid progress", he said.
"In due course we will of course need to return to the issue of Kosovo, but it is too early now to launch this debate", the High Representative underlined.
