"The Holy See is interested in the stability of the region of South East Europe and hopes that this year conditions will be created for reconcilliation and a peaceful future of the peoples of Serbia and Kosovo, with the respect of minorities and the protection of the valuable art and cultural heritage", the Pope said in his traditional annual address to the diplomatic corps in The Vatican.

The Vatican refuses to recognize Kosovo's secession.
