The protesters claimed the NATO-trained force was designed to harass the Serb community, and vowed to prevent its deployment in Serb areas.

The chairman of the Kosovska Mitrovica municipality Radenko Nedeljkovic called the KSF a "threat to regional stability".

He called on the Kosovo Serbs to refuse participation in the force and on Kfor to stay within its mandate.

The president of the Serb National Council of northern Kosovo, Milan Ivanovic, slammed Eulex for implementing the Ahtisaari plan instead of being status-neutral.

The protest ended without incidents.
