Chizhov: Project of independent Kosovo failed
Russian Ambassador to the EU Vladimir Chizhov has said that the project of independent Kosovo has failed, which is proved by the fact that Kosovo is not part of international organisations, the United Nations and OSCE.

In an interview for the Belgrade daily Vecernje Novosti, published on Tuesday, Chizhov also said that Kosovo had great problems with economy, that a number of countries would not recognize it even in case that official Belgrade did that.
"In the past few days, I had talks with those that had a positive view on the Kosovo recognition, and the only thing they could tell me one year after the proclamation of independence was that things could not be any worse", he said.
As for the announcements of the Kosovo Albanian leaders that Russia would recognize the "new" state, the Russian diplomat said that they might consider the issue, but not before Serbia recognized Kosovo.
