Algeria will never recognize Kosovo
Algeria's Foreign Minister Mourad Medelchi told his Serbian counterpart Vuk Jeremic, during his visit, that Algeria has a "firm position" on Kosovo and that it will never recognize Kosovo as an independent state.

"We are an independent country and we make the decisions. Algeria is in contact with many countries but we make the decisions," Medelchi commented after being asked whether Algeria has been pressured by Western powers to recognize the illegal declaration of independence that Kosovo Albanian separatist made last year.
Medelchi offered Algeria's firm support of Serbia on the issue of Kosovo separatism.
"Kosovo is part of Serbia and our position cannot change, and is in line with respect of principles of international legitimacy," said Medelchi.
