Germany to withdraw troops from KFOR from second half of 2009

German Defense Minister Franz Josef Jung said Tuesday that German troops will not be witdrawn from KFOR before mid-2009.

"Achievements made in Kosovo so far must not be endangered", he told the press.

Civilian structures are expected to be established in Kosovo by mid-2009, and gradual withdrawal of troops can be considered only after that, he said.
