Pristina daily: Thaci government continues tradition of corruption

The Kosovo government of Hashim Thaci continues the tradition of corruption of the previous government, the Pristina daily Koha ditore said on Monday, underscoring that the Kosovo Anti-corruption Agency (KAA) last year registered 146 cases of corruption in public institutions.

Quoting the KAA report for the period January-December 2008, the daily said the nature of the corruption in Kosovo was diverse - from  taking commission and signing of damaging contracts, to abusing authority for illegal activities.

"The total sum involving suspected corrupt cases, in particular tenders, amounts to more than 3,600,000 euros," Koha ditore said.
