Libya tough against Kosovo independence
Libya has expressed its firm position that it will not recognize the unilaterally proclaimed independence made by the Kosovo Albanian separatists despite an intense world pressure by big Western powers to do so, Serbia's Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic said after his talks with Libya's President Moamar Ghadafi.

"I had an opportunity to talk with Libya's government leaders, with the Prime MInister, Foreign Minister, Minister for African Union as well as with Moamar Ghadafi," said Jeremic and characterized their position as "tough, unchangeable".
Jeremic said that there was not a hint of a possibility that Libya would stop its support of Serbia.
"For us, it is very important, with the view of Libya's position in the organizations it belongs, first of all in the African Union where it presides, and it is influential in the nonaligned and Arab world," said Jeremic.
Jeremic said that Libya's support is also important because in the last few weeks unnamed states are pressuring the world to recognize Kosovo separatist illegal declaration of independence. The intense pressure is because of the upcoming April 17 International Court of Justice ruling on the illegality of the declaration where US will file a brief where it will claim that the illegal secession is legal.
At the official dinner hosted by Ghadafi, Jeremic met with representatives from Tanzania and Sri Lanka and both countries expressed their adamant opposition to Kosovo's separatism.
