Norwegians warn of investment risk in Kosovo

A Norwegian company has decided to launch a website which would warn potential investors of the investment hazards in Kosovo.

The http://www.dontinvestinkosovo.com/ website focuses on corruption, convenient lack of laws and misuse of laws, abuse of human rights, corruption and deception of international personnel working in Kosovo and other problems investors might face there.

The authors of the website highlights that the project is "in the best interest of the citizens of Kosovo and others that have or could be affected by Kosovo's seemingly abused, corrupt, collapsed and politically controlled justice systems."

This Web page is expected to be completed on May 1, 2009, when documentation on the case in which Norway's company Norway Invest has suffered losses.

It is said in a press release on the website that Norway Invest has developed two major projects in Kosovo during the 2001-2003 period, but that in 2003 it was forced to withdraw after realizing that their Kosovo partners will not observe the agreement.

The projects were on emergency communication network and a digital "e-governmental" data center, which was named "Kosovo Data Centre."
