Thierry de Montbrial: Kosovo's independence was a „grave mistake"
One of the leading French foreign policy analysts, Thierry de Montbrial, said in an interview with the Russian daily Rossiskaya Gazeeta that the recognition of Kosovo as an independent state was a „grave mistake".

He said the former republics of Yugoslavia and the Soviet Union that had the right of secession from the federative states they had been part of, are very different from Kosovo, which never had definitely defined borders.
„The Kosovo case is a great failure of diplomacy", the French analyst said.
