Former Kosovo rebel jailed for seven years for war crimes
A court Wednesday sentenced a former Kosovo Albanian rebel to seven years in prison for war crimes committed in 1998-99 conflict, an official said.

"Gjelosh Krasniqi, 35, was found guilty of committing a war crime by taking a person hostage in March 1999" in western Kosovo, said Kristiina Herodes, spokeswoman of the European Union mission in Kosovo.
Krasniqi was a member of the ethnic Albanian separatist guerrillas of the Kosovo Liberation Army, which had fought Serbian security forces during the conflict.
He was charged by prosecutors with kidnapping a Kosovo Albanian, now presumed to be dead.
