Five Kosovo Serbs placed under house arrest for 30 days

A district court judge in Gnjilane, eastern Kosovo, sentenced five Serbs to 30 days of house arrest on Tuesday evening after their arrests following a clash with members of the Kosovo Police Service (KPS) in the Kosovsko Pomoravlje region, KPS Regional Spokesperson Ismet Hasani said on Wednesday.

Milivoje Maksimovic, Negovan Nicic, and Djordje, Zoran and Suncica Andrejevic were detained for violent behaviour and have now been sentenced to house arrest, the spokesperson said.

Clashes followed a protest by Kosovo Serbs against massive electricity cuts.
