Pristina lobbies for new recognitions of Kosovo in New York

Kosovo Foreign Minister Skender Hiseni is in a visit to New York, where he will hold at least 30 meetings with representatives of the states that have not recognized the independence of Kosovo, the Pristina media reported Monday.

In the UN headquaters, Hiseni intends to influence countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo independence to do so.

Kosovo Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the only aim of Hiseni's visit is to lobby for recognition of Kosovo as a state, the paper reports.


Hiseni's visit to New York in being held immediately after the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Damascus, where the resolution tabled by Saudi Arabia that the Conference member states should acknowledge the independence of Kosovo was rejected.
