Russia: Pristina's attitude intolerable
Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Vitaly Churkin said at a UN Security Council (SC) session late on Wednesday that Russia was concerned over the fact that, in spite of the urge for Pristina to observe the decisions of the UN SC, Kosovo authorities continued to insist that the UN Mission concluded its work and claimed that Kosovo had no legal obligation to continue to imply Resolution 1244.

"We find such an attitude as intolerable", Churkin underlined, noting that UN SC Resolution 1244 remained to be in full force and that according to that document, the UN Mission should continue to perform its duties, ensuring that minority rights be observed and democratic standards realized.
"Russia is confident that the leading role of the Security Council has no alternative in the further resolution of the Kosovo issue, as it is this body that should be the guarantor of the respect of international law and the UN Charter", Churkin
