Jeremic: Serbia's argumentation before ICJ is superior

The international public generally believes that Serbia's argumentation before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the issue of legality of the unilateral declaration of independence by Kosovo is superior compared to the written statements submitted by other countries, Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic stated, adding that great powers had lately increased their pressure on the countries that had yet to recognize Kosovo.

"Pressure has been increased drastically over the past week on countries worldwide to recognize Kosovo, especially after the arguments of all states had been read. Some of the most influential countries are pressuring other countries to recognize Kosovo, which is not a fair fight," said Jeremic.

Jeremic said that Serbia is in a preparation phase for a public debate on the issue, which will be held by about 30 countries in six or nine months.

"The ICJ decision in this case will serve as an example in every other future case of secession in the world", underscored Jeremic.
