Serbian bishop calls on Serbs to boycott Kosovo elections

The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo, Bishop Artemije,, called on Serbs not to take part in the local elections in Kosovo scheduled for November 15, because he believes this is a "smart trap for the Serbs to recognize the illicit and illegal situation in the province".

Bishop Artemije said that all those who go to the Kosovo elections in the fall will obviously stand for independent Kosovo and he, as a Bishop, and the clergy of the Raska and Prizren Eparchy and the believing people will never agree to that.

"The Serbs have no need to go to those elections, unless they want to recognize Kosovo's independence and find themselves in a state outside the state of Serbia," underscored Bishop Artemije.
