Request to find out fate of journalists missing in Kosovo
The Serbian Association of Journalists (UNS) requested Thursday from EULEX officials to investigate the disappearance of three Serbian journalists in Kosovo in 1998 and 1999, and arrest the murderers of journalist Aleksandar Simovic.

The Association of Journalists of Kosovo, as a UNS branch, also urged EULEX to do its utmost to find out the fate of journalists reported missing in Kosovo-Metohija, UNS said in a release.
The release notes that August 21 is the 11th anniversary of the disappearance of Pristina Radio reporters Djuro Slavuj and Ranko Perinic on the road to Orahovac, which was at the time under the control of the self-styled Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
The release also notes that the correspondent of Politika and of Pristina Jedinstvo Ljubomir Knezevic disappeared on May 6, 1999, in the foothills of the Cicavica mountain in the vicinity of Vucitrn.
Knezevic's body was never found.
The Serbian government White Book mentions Bekim Suti, aka Niku, as suspect in the disappearance of the Serbian journalists.
Suti used to be a KLA special unit commander in the Sala zone. The unit abducted Knezevic and tortured him before killing him.
EULEX is also urged to find and take to justice the murderers of journalist and writer Aleksandar Simovic, who disappeared in Pristina on August 21, 1999, and whose remains were later found in Obrinje near Glogovac.
