The Serbian path towards the EU was supported by 71,55 per cent of 1,300 Serbs included in the survey commissioned by the country's ministry for Kosovo, but integration into NATO received seriously colder reception with just some 26,20 per cent of people polled in favour of such a move.
At the same time, improvements in relations with Russia, which has been supporting the territorial integrity of Serbia, gained momentum, with almost 60 per cent of Serbs comfortable with such a development.
Autonomy for Kosovo within Serbian borders remained the most favorable outcome of ongoing negotiations, as 56,68 per cent of people polled expressed strong support for that conclusion of talks, described as a "just solution".
Close to 28 per cent believe in a division of Kosovo as the best solution to the problem.
Just six per cent of Serbian citizens support the outcome of an independent Kosovo.
